Welcome Back Year 1!
Miss Lea and Miss Carney
Miss Dugdale and Mrs Kerrigan
Homework will be sent out on Monday and is to be handed in on Friday. This will consist of spelling and maths homework. The children will have a spelling test, each Friday and their spelling scores will be put in their reading records. If homework is not returned by Friday, it will be completed during Golden Time, that afternoon.
In year 1, phonics and reading are vital tools for children's learning. We have daily phonics sessions and aim to read with the children as much as we can within lessons. We appreciate your support at home by reading with your child frequently (at least 3 times a week). Please record any reading, in the reading record, whether it be the reading books provided, a bed time story or a magazine. Knowing about the other reading you do with your child, helps us better understand your child's interests.
P.E is on WEdnesday so please ensure your child's hair is tied back for safety reasons. We will send P.E kits home at the end of each half term. Please ensure they are returned on the first day of each half term.
Well done to all the children who have been learning online with us or completing our learning packs. Miss Lea and I are very proud of you and your parents for keeping this going whilst we are not allowed in school. Hopefully, we will get to see you in school soon. Have a great half term and a well deserved rest.
!! Please note!!
The independent task highlighted on the timetable will be given by the class teacher during that lesson via Google Meet. English lessons will be followed by an English task, maths lessons will be followed by a maths task.
For example, if the children attend an English lesson, then they will be given a task to do following the lesson: after a lesson on question marks, we may direct the children to have a go at writing some questions by themselves.
Week Starting: 20/07/2020
This week there will be one Google Meet session, on Tuesday 21st July at 09:30am.
Remember that there will be no sessions on Monday or Wednesday.
See you on Tuesday with your crazy hair / a hat / fancy dress for our fun family quiz!
Don't forget to invite somebody from your house
