Welcome to Nursery!

The class teacher is Mrs Jones who is supported by Mrs Myers our teaching assistant.

We hope that you had a lovely Christmas holiday and got to spend some quality time together. We are excited for the new term ahead and to help your children to learn and grow.

EYFS Curriculum

In Nursery we will be learning through lots of fun, play based activities which fall into the 7 areas of learning for the Early Years Foundation Stage.  These are;

  Personal, Emotional and Social Development
  Communication and Language
Physical Development

  Understanding the World
  Expressive Arts

(Blue indicates the Prime Areas. Red indicates the Specific Areas of learning.)

Spring Term

This half term our topic focus is 'Superheroes' and 'People who help us.' This half term we will explore our own 'special' skills and build on our own self-confidence and self-esteem. Each week we will be looking at something different linked to our class topic. We will also look at a variety of texts to support our learning. After our February half term, we will begin our new topic, 'On the Farm'.

   'Mighty Small' by Timothy Knapman                                        'Superworm' by Julia Donaldson

Important information

  • It is very important that your child has a named water bottle in school each day.

  • Home/school books need to be brought in each Wednesday, so these can be given back out on the Friday. Staff will add something in here each week and we encourage you to share your child’s activities at home with us too!

  • All uniform, coats, P.E kits, shoes etc need to be clearly labelled.

  • P.E will take place on a Thursday for both Nursery AM and Nursery PM.
