Welcome to Nursery!

The class teacher is Mrs Jones who is supported by Mrs Myers our teaching assistant.

Welcome back to our older children and a BIG HELLO to our new starters. The children have settled in to the new school year fantastically and have enjoyed coming in to Nursery each day.

I know we are going to have a lovely year and we cannot wait to watch all of the children learn and grow.

EYFS Curriculum

In Nursery we will be learning through lots of fun, play based activities which fall into the 7 areas of learning for the Early Years Foundation Stage.  These are;

  Personal, Emotional and Social Development
  Communication and Language
Physical Development

  Understanding the World
  Expressive Arts

(Blue indicates the Prime Areas. Red indicates the Specific Areas of learning.)

Autumn Term

Our main topic this half term is 'All About Me'. We will be learning all about ourselves and each other. Each week we will be looking at something different, beginning with, what we look like and how we are all different and special.

We will be using a variety of different texts to support our learning. A selection of them can be seen below. After our October half term we will begin our new topic, 'Festivals and Celebrations'.

Important information

  • It is very important that your child has a named water bottle in school each day.

  • Home/school books need to be brought in each Wednesday, so these can be given back out on the Friday. Staff will add something in here each week and we encourage you to share your child’s activities at home with us too!

  • All uniform, coats, P.E kits, shoes etc need to be clearly labelled.

  • P.E will take place on a Thursday for both Nursery AM and Nursery PM.
