The class teacher is Miss Daniels who is supported by Mrs Myers, our teaching assistant.
The children have had a lovely start to the year and we are so glad that we are all back together again. The children have shown us how amazing they all are during the Autumn term and we are looking forward to seeing them progress even further!
I know we are going to have a lovely year and we cannot wait to watch all of the children learn and grow.
Spring A
Our topic for this half term is 'Dinosaurs'. Due to the national lockdown, all of our teaching and learning will now take place online. For Nursery, this will involve brief, daily GoogleMeet sessions based around the different areas of our curriculum. Below is the timetable for the upcoming week as well as a guide on how to us GoogleMeet.
Google Classroom
As a school we are using Google Classroom to provide home learning alongside GoogleMeet sessions. All children have their own email and password log in to this which has previously been provided to parents. Each week I will upload suggested daily timetables and activities linked to our current topic to aid home learning.

Autumn B
Our topic for last half term was 'Festivals and Celebrations'. We learnt about the different special days that we have throughout the year and talked about how we might celebrate these occasions with our families.
As the weather gets colder we have started to discuss the changes from Autumn to Winter. Our main focus text for this topic is Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers.
The children have really enjoyed reading Lost and Found. They have created their very own story map!
Arctic Exploration
The children will be learning through fun and play based activities. These activities fall into 7 areas of learning for the Early Years Foundation Stage. These are;
Personal, Emotional and Social Development
Communication and Language
Physical Development
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the World
Expressive Arts
(Blue indicates the Prime Areas. Red indicates the Specific Areas of learning.)
Important Information
The children will be given a piece of fruit and milk or water during snack time and this comes at no cost.
P.E is on a Friday for both Nursery 1 and Nursery 2. Please ensure that your child has a P.E kit in school (white top, blue shorts and pumps will be needed weekly).
Please make sure that all of your child's clothing is clearly labelled (including their coats).
In Nursery we play outside daily and in all weather, so we ask that you provide your child with the appropriate outdoor clothing and suitable footwear.
Please feel free to come and speak with any of us in Nursery about anything you need. And please do keep us up to date with your child's interests and hobbies, so that we can frame our teaching around what they enjoy. We are thoroughly enjoying working with you and your child for this year!
