Welcome to Nursery!

Spring Term 2019

The class teacher is Miss Daniels who is supported by Mrs Coneeny and Mrs Myers, our teaching assistants.

The children will be learning through fun and play based activities. These activities fall into 7 areas of learning for the Early Years Foundation Stage. These are;

Personal, Emotional and Social Development

Communication and Language

Physical Development

Understanding the World

Expressive Arts

This half term our topic will be 'Winter and Polar Animals'. We will be exploring the changes that occur during the winter season and talking about the different animals that live in colder climates.

We have a number of activities planned for the children that we will teach through our narrative immersion planning. Our story this half term will be Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers. This story is based around a little boy who finds a penguin at his front door, the little boy must find a way to get the penguin back home to the South Pole.

Important Information

The children will get a piece of fruit and milk or water during snack time and this comes at no cost.

P.E is on a Wednesday for both Nursery 1 and Nursery 2. Please ensure that your child has a P.E kit in school (white top, blue shorts and pumps will be needed weekly).

Book loan is on a Friday and we ask that you collect your child 15 minutes earlier so that you can join your child in choosing their book for the week. If your child is in the afternoon session of Nursery we will allow your child to choose their own book and collection time will remain the same.

Please make sure that all of your child's clothing is clearly labelled (including their coats).

In Nursery we play outside daily and in all weather, so we ask that you provide your child with the appropriate outdoor clothing and suitable footwear.

Please feel free to come and speak with any of us in Nursery about anything you need. We look forwards to working with you and your child for the remainder of the school year!
