ECO COUNCIL 2014 - 2015

ECO COUNCIL 2014 - 2015

Oakfield Community Primary School is a member of the Eco-Schools programme.

Each year the children are given the opportunity to express their views and opinions on the importance of being an Eco school and becoming a councillor.  A new council is then selected with representatives from Year 1 to Year 6

Pupils are the driving force behind Eco-Schools – they form and lead an Eco-Council and help to carry out an audit to assess the environmental performance of the school. In conjunction with the rest of the school and the wider community, it’s the pupils that decide the environmental themes they want to address and how they’re going to do it.

Our new councillors would like to thank the councillors of 2013-2014 for all their hard work and planting of  the soft fruit orchard purchased from the sucessful bid by the 2012-2013 council.  We will carry on their good work and make sure the orchard is  well looked after and expanded by the school. We will also continue to raise funds to continue to be 'Friends of the red squirrel' and intend to carry on with their good work by sponsoring an international endangered animal
