ECO COUNCIL 2013-2014
Oakfield Community Primary School is a member of the Eco-Schools programme.
Each year the children are given the opportunity to express their views and opinions on the importance of being an Eco school and becoming a councillor. A new council is then selected with representatives from Year 1 to Year 6
Pupils are the driving force behind Eco-Schools – they form and lead an Eco-Council and help to carry out an audit to assess the environmental performance of the school. In conjunction with the rest of the school and the wider community, it’s the pupils that decide the environmental themes they want to address and how they’re going to do it.
Our new councillors would like to thank the councillors of 2012-2013 for all their hard work and congratulate them on the successful bid from Greenredeem for £1000 to purchase a soft fruit orchard. We will carry on their good work and make sure the orchard is planted and well looked after by the school.
